20 Teams, One Unforgettable Day

The first-ever All-Men’s Doubles team tournament brought 20 teams, around 150 players and more than 150 spectators together at One Punggol for a full day of high-level senior pickleball.

A morning of introductions and celebration

The doors opened at 7:00 am, with registration and first-game line-ups getting underway from 7:30. From 8:00 am, players and supporters gathered for announcements, the presentation of all participating teams and group photographs.

The tournament began with a lovely community moment: Tham Hon Yuen of The Legends, representing Tampines GRC, celebrated his birthday alongside 14 other participants born in October. After everyone sang “Happy Birthday,” warm wishes went around the hall.

Emcee introductions brought the organising committee—Roger Yap, Daniel Lo and David Yeo—to the floor. Tournament Director Dixie Kor then gave a short briefing on the rules and regulations, and the first games began.

High-level play and a sudden-death decider

The standard of play was high, with many of Singapore’s most prolific senior pickleball players taking part. The day’s standout cliff-hanger came in the semi-final between Punggol Coast and Wild Wild West of West Coast GRC. The third match was the decider, and Punggol Coast edged it by a single point at sudden death to reach the final.

Punggol Coast went on to win gold, defeating Marine Parade 61 in the final. Marine Parade 61 took silver, while Wild Wild West earned bronze. See the complete results and group standings.

The captains’ feedback says it all

“Very well organised” and “a great opportunity for senior men.”

— Sembawang Aces

The Erne Elites called it an “outstanding” and “well-organized” tournament, and said the little extras were a lovely touch.

— Punggol Coast Erne Elites

The tournament “set a very high standard,” with feedback described as “positive and overwhelming.”

— AMK GRC

The Legends also praised the captain posters, sponsor presence, decorations, prizes and catered lunch, while Happy Seniors highlighted the smooth running of the day and the friendships built through the competition.

Thank you—and the journey continues

Our thanks go to sponsors Skechers, Recogen, Kamito, Bestlink Builders and Centrel. We are also grateful to Punggol Coast CSN for facilitating the tournament and to One Punggol for hosting us.

We look forward to bringing people together again with more events—bigger and better—in 2027. Alongside these community tournaments, planning is underway for the InterCity Senior Classic (ISC), an international senior pickleball event in Singapore from 22–26 September 2027.

From the first team introductions to the 6:30 pm prize-giving ceremony, the day was about competition, community and friendship. Thank you to every player, spectator, captain, volunteer and supporter who made it special.

The approved Version 3 Rules & Regulations are reproduced below for convenient reading. If anything on this page differs from the official PDF, refer to the official PDF.

1. Eligibility and team composition

  • The tournament is open to men aged 50 and above on 4 October 2026.
  • Players of all skill levels are welcome.
  • All members of a team must belong to the same GRC cluster.
  • Each team may register up to 8 players: 6 main players and 2 reserves.
  • Each team must nominate one Team Captain as its official contact with the Organising Committee and to submit match line-ups.
  • A player may play only once in each team match. Before each team match, the captain submits the playing pair for each of the three age divisions.

2. Match format and age divisions

  • Each team match consists of three doubles games, in these age divisions: 50–55, 56–60, and 61 and above.
  • A player may play in a lower age division, but may not play up into an older age division.
  • In the round-robin stage, all three games in each team match are played.
  • In knockout matches, play ends once a team has won 2 of the 3 games.

3. Competition structure

  • The tournament is limited to 20 teams, divided into four groups of five.
  • Teams play a full round-robin within their group.
  • The top two teams from each group advance to the quarter-finals, followed by the semi-finals and final.

4. Scoring and change of ends

  • Round robin: games are played to 15 points. Teams change ends when the first team reaches 8. There is no deuce.
  • Knockout: games are played to 21 points. Teams change ends when the first team reaches 11. There is no deuce; at 20–20, the next point wins.

5. Group-stage tie-breaks

If teams are tied in the group standings, rankings are decided in this order:

  1. Most team matches won.
  2. Most games won.
  3. Best points differential (points scored minus points conceded).
  4. Head-to-head result.

6. Line-ups and reserves

  • Once submitted, a line-up may be changed only with the Tournament Director’s approval and for a genuine emergency.
  • Players not used in one team match remain eligible for later matches, subject to the age-division and one-game-per-match rules. Reserves may be used in later team matches or replace a main player in a later line-up, provided all eligibility rules are met.

7. Fees, awards and conduct

  • Team registration fee: S$100. Registration is closed.
  • Medals will be awarded to the champion, runner-up and second runner-up teams. Prize presentation will take place after the final match.
  • Players must use safe and competition-appropriate paddles and attire.
  • Players should observe good sportsmanship and respect opponents, officials and match monitors at all times.

8. Tournament administration

The Tournament Director may make operational adjustments when necessary for safety, timing or the smooth conduct of the event. The Tournament Director’s decisions on competition administration are final.
